Happy Earth Day everyone!

We are looking to add to our team.  We are looking to fill 3 positions.  Each position is different and we are looking for certain and different criteria for all of them, but the one thing they all have in common that we are looking for is the awesome factor.  You must be awesome!

Intern:

We want an AWESOME intern.  Like seriously.

Interning with M2 isn’t just sitting at a computer clicking through pictures.  You don’t want to do that.  I did that for an internship in college and almost drowned myself in developer. (TWICE!)  Our interns will help us with things both on the front and back end of the business   You’ll get to assist us on shoots, help us with albums, culling, editing, publications, the AB project, and much more.  Warning, there will be a bit of randomness involved.  God forbid we see something shiny.

What is our Intern like?  I thought AWESOME was a good enough word but I guess I can give you more.  Trustworthy, good communicator, punctual, fun loving, great sense of humor, eclectic taste in music, good with kids!, and no ego.  If you want to learn, you should check that at the door.

You’ll get a chance to learn all there is about running a photography business.  You’ll also learn whatever you want.  Well, nothing outside of photography I suppose.  Unless you have a job you don’t like.  Then we’ll push you to do what you love.

When will you work?  You actually have to live here.  We have a fantastic barn in the back which is very comfortable.  Haha.  We’d pick one day a week that would work best for all of us.  You’d also get opportunities to come with us to shoots on the weekends.  We are looking for an intern that can commit to a 6 month internship.

Are you really going to learn anything?  Uh, yeah!  Of course you will.  Photography isn’t something you learn from a teacher in a class.  Photography is learned through experiencing it.  You can read about it all you want but that won’t do you any good.  Plus, we can work with you on specific things you’re interested in.  Editing, Shooting, Interaction, Culling, Lighting, How NOT to be a gear junkie.

So how do you apply?  Include the following in an email to hello@m2-photography.net.

Name.

Phone #.

A picture of yourself.  (what? we’re visual people!)

A resume or some sort of background information.

Portfolio if you have one.

And tell us why you want to intern with M2.

A list of equipment you currently have.

Here are some pictures of our past interns…all who we love and miss dearly!

We will be interviewing in person for this position.

Editor:

We want an AWESOME editor!

Editing is VERY important to us.  We believe it’s a big part of the art.  We have a specific look and feel we SHOOT for.  Pun intended. And we want to find someone who would be willing to learn our process and help us!  You must, of course, be familiar with LR & PS. We will not train someone how to use those programs.

This is a contracted job and you will get paid hourly.

We’d have you come in 1 to 2 days a week.  It really depends on the workload.

Assuming you’ve read the Intern stuff above, you know what kind of person we want with us.  If you didn’t here are things that describe the person we’re looking for… trustworthy, good communicator,  punctual, fun loving, great sense of humor, eclectic taste in music, good with kids!, and no ego.  If you want to learn, you should check that at the door.

So how do you apply for the Editor position?  Include the following in an email to hello@m2-photography.net.

Name.

Phone #.

A picture of yourself.  (what? I told you, we’re visual people!)

A resume or some sort of background information.

Samples of your editing.

This is where you’ll be working…(and yes that is both Mac and PC you see there….we believe in equality and living in harmony)

We will be interviewing in person for this position.

Photography Associate

We are looking for an UBER AWESOME photographer for 2014!  This is a hard position to fill.  We can’t have any Tom, Dick, or Harry shoot for us.  Well, we do have a Tom already..  Err..uhh.. you know what I mean.

Why are we adding another associate?  We have two associates and we simply don’t like even numbers..

The person who will fill this position can have their own photography business and shoot their own weddings too.  We will have them shoot both in the first and second shooter position.  Our pay for each of these roles is VERY good.

An absolute must for us is that you have to ENJOY documenting weddings and LOVE people.  Seems obvious, but it’s easy to see when someone doesn’t and it shows in how they interact with people and it hurts their work.

Our associates give everything they’ve got from the first picture to the last.  And that’s what it takes to successfully document a wedding.

So how do you apply to be an associate?  Include the following in an email to hello@m2-photography.net.

Name.

Phone #.

A picture of yourself.  (what? you really shouldn’t be surprised by this)

A resume or some sort of background information.

# of weddings you’ve photographed.

Samples of your work.  And if you’ve shot a wedding, we need to see at least one.

Here are some pictures of our associates Tom and Jen.  We love them and they are family to us.   They also have their own photography businesses and shoot a limited number of weddings with us each year.  They are fun, always reliable, clearly charming (Tom), and most of all passionate.

They will get down and dirty for a shot…we like that!  Jen has dirt all over her jacket and pants and Tom has sticks and pieces of leaf on his jacket and in his hair, ha.

Meet us (M&M)!

Because all of these positions will have us spending a lot of time together…you should get to know us, or at least, know what we look like.  We’re a little goofy and quirky. We dream big, we love people, love adventure, love our kids and we love life.

This is Michael.  He likes climbing things.

This is Melissa.  She likes to dance.

  1. Tom says:

Michael and Melissa are an extremely GIVING, KNOWLEDGEABLE, TALENTED, LOVING and FUN duo! They CARE to the highest degree in all they do. They are much more than photographers. But if you are passionate about any of the above I urge to reach out. Michael answered a blind email I sent him a couple years back and he picked up the phone, called me, and right from the start he cared. I am grateful for that. I am grateful for all I have learned through both Michael and Melissa. To be part of this TEAM gives me a sense of humble pride.

But the best part? I made some of the BEST friends of my life…the day I met them.

Tom…don’t make me cry man…don’t make me cry…

If you are ever looking for a unique and energetic graphic designer, I am your gal! I do some photo work, but haven’t recently because I have been chasing an almost 2 year old little girl! I am local, living in Royersford, I work a full time job, but love making extra money (who doesn’t)! Please contact me if you ever need some design work!!! Have a great day!

This is by far the best posting for a career I have come across. You all look like a super cool team. I am moving from Miami to Bordentown within the month; I miss my girlfriend way too much :). I will send you the info you inquire within the next couple of days. I would love to set up a meet when I visit in two weeks.
    Namaste
