Brittany and Pat have been happily together for 8 years (married for 2). After seeing pictures we took of her friend’s engagement shoot, she inquired about getting photo’s taken of her and her husband, something they have never done. After emailing back and forth and having random facebook chats together, I felt I had a very good insight of them as a couple. Michael and I are both suckers for hopeless romantics and I would say Pat & Britt are just that.
To give you a little insight to just how cute they are, 5-6 years ago on a winter day, Brittany had asked Pat to marry her. She went all out by setting the scene with orchids, creating post-its, a mixed cd, hanging 44 yards of fabric from their 3rd story bedroom window onto the backyard, in hopes that the man she loved, would happen to look out and see that she had written in snow “Will you merry me”? (It was Christmas time). He said yes and in 2009, they got married in their backyard where she had written the question.
We chose their home as the location of the shoot. It is the place where they feel most comfortable. When they bought their home, it needed a little imagination and a total facelift. Although, there are rooms that are still a work in progress, they are finishing the home to their liking. Their home is a mixture of old world charm with modern flair.
On the day of the shoot, we expected some level of awkwardness from them because we’ve never met them in person and here we are in their home, big cameras in hand, photographing them making out, lol. Fortunately, for us, it was the complete opposite. Everything was easy and natural from the moment Pat opened the door and welcomed us in their home to the moment he helped us carry our bags to our car when leaving. It really was like we’ve been old time friends.
Below are some images from their shoot…
Meet Tank…the most well behaved dog I’ve ever seen (much more behaved than well Mr. Ugglesworth).
Their 3rd story bedroom.
Like we said…there are some rooms that a work in progress. Maybe this doesn’t work for the homeowner, but it works for us.
Britt is a fantastic cook. She decided to make Bananas Foster, which happens to be my most favorite desert in this entire world. Britt has her own event planning company Bshane Events. She has fantastic taste and her attention to detail is simply amazing. She is worth checking out if you are in need of a planner!
Aww Tank! He wanted more “cookies” (carrots).
Pat & Britt, it was really great spending time with you and we thank you for welcoming us in your home and for the delicious Bananas Foster :0) Can’t wait for the DECKadence party!
Hugs,
Melissa.
I love their house! …and the shots, of course!
