I am all about empowering women. I believe that every woman is beautiful and every woman should see the beauty they uniquely posses. This is just another reason I absolutely and wholeheartedly love what I do. I get that opportunity to photograph the beauty I see in other women, often times, women I’ve never met before. Some days it’s really hard and not even just a little hard, but some days, it’s down right impossible for our own selves to see that beauty we have within us. But that light/that beauty, it’s always there. Others see it, even when we can’t see it ourselves.
I also believe that women should empower other women rather than tearing them down. I am so honored to be involved in an upcoming BeePie event that is exactly that. It’s an encouraging atmosphere of women, all hanging out (a ladies afternoon), making their own floral crowns, getting their makeup done and having timeless and beautiful images taken of themselves. The thing I love most about BeePie is that it isn’t just about young women, but very diverse. Beauty and grace come in all sizes and ages. Whether you are a mother/daughter duo, pregnant with your child, have just had a child, sisters, a bride to be or already married, whatever the case may be, you are perfect for BeePie.
I’ll be one of the two photographers on the October 18th event. It’s a perfect time of year too. It would make a great Christmas gift to your partner or it would just be a great gift to yourself.
100% of my commission for ladies I photograph will be donated to a project that I have been working on for the past couple years. I started the Own Kind of Beautiful project two summers ago in hopes to inspire women. It’s an open journal for women who have struggled but above all, have survived. It is my hopes and dreams that this project will touch the hearts of others and inspire them also. Not only would this be a great day and gift to yourself, but you’ll also be helping me share more stories of more women as well.
I only have 6 spots left! I would love to photograph your beautiful faces and hope to see you there! If you want to sign up, you can sign up here.
I’ve been very much looking forward to sharing this Philadelphia boudoir shoot with you. I shot this at one of my favorite locations, Maggpie Vintage Rentals is the most gorgeous warehouse I’ve ever laid my eyes on (BeePie is also held here…BOUNUS!)
A special thank you to Belovely for this amazing wild and free floral crown. It was absolutely perfect. And another shout out to my good friend Yvette for doing such a beautiful job on hair and makeup.
I shot off a roll of medium format fill as well and wanted to share some of my favorites.
