This past Saturday we shot Bill & Christina’s wedding at the Joseph Ambler Inn. This was our first time shooting in this space. We always get excited when shooting at a place for the first time. Why? Our ideas are fresh and we are more likely to think even farther out of the box than normal.
It was very easy documenting Bill & Christina’s wedding. One part of the day just flowed into the next. For once, Michael and I did not feel rushed!!! Which is more amazing than you can imagine! The whole day seemed very relaxed and slow paced, which we are not used to. Part of why the day didn’t seemed rushed had a lot to do with doing a first look and doing the portraits before the ceremony. They were also very comfortable in front of the camera, I think their engagement session helped =0)
Bill & Christina’s first look was a bit hilarious (in a really cute way). Bill had no idea what he was supposed to do when he approached Christina ( not sure if he was supposed to slap her on the back, perform the Heimlich Maneuver, hug her, kiss her). He did none of the above, instead he just stood next to her laughing. I’m pretty sure Christina expected something along those lines anyway, so I was able to get a good reaction from her.
The Reception was a good time with good music. Michael and I rely heavily on a DJ/Band to get the crowd up and dancing. We can’t make people dance or photoshop them on the dance floor (or we could, but we won’t, lol), we can only shoot what is happening. This is where a good dj or band comes in. We had the privilege of working with DJ Eddie Ayala of Silversound. We’ve worked with this company a few times and we’ve never been disappointed.
Michael and I even had the opportunity to go to the after party. We get asked often, but sometimes we have a shoot early the next day and us being the responsible business owners that we are, decide it’s best to go home and sleep :0) We always enjoy the chance to meet new people and to hang out with the bride and groom.
Anyhoo, let’s get to the good stuff (the images below).
