3 weeks ago, we got a call from Josh and Nellie about shooting their wedding. Michael has known Josh for years, but my first time meeting him was while shooting his brother’s wedding last December. So of course we were interested in shooting his wedding. When they told us their wedding was on October 15th, we immediately thought October 15th of next year….but then they said of 2011. From May through the end of October, we had 3 Saturdays available and October 15th was one of them. It wasn’t your traditional wedding in a lot of ways, it was also shorter than the average wedding.
There were many things I loved about this wedding. To list a few…
*The couple, they compliment each other perfectly.
**I loved that it was a backyard wedding and the earthy style.
***I loved how they managed to pull all of this together in literally 3 weeks!
But the thing I loved the most was that their entire wedding was very personal and simple without losing the charm and style. I think it’s important to not lose yourself when planning a wedding. It’s very easy when planning a wedding, to plan it around what others would like or want. I love that Nellie and Josh never lost themselves in their planning and made their day about them.
The photography was very important to them. They gave us almost 90 minutes with them alone, which is way more than we usually get. This gave us a nice amount of time to make some really great portraits of them. Thank you for that!
We may just try and get this backyard wedding published =0)
