Okay, Okay, I understand that I say I love shooting in different weather situations, but seriously….another wedding with rain? I don’t want to freak any of our new brides out or any of you that are not yet married. Rain happens, it’s weather and how does one control the weather? They can’t. They usually pray about it. That’s what I do.
As always, we made the most out of the situation. It may not have felt that way when we were stranded under a tree for shelter (it had thick foliage). We were able to get some cute shots from under that tree though!
Luckily for us, Andy and Ann were so easy to work with. We are lucky to work with the awesome bride and grooms that are willing to give us 15 minutes out of their reception to do night portraits. We don’t always get a chance to do them, but we do love when we do! Especially if it happens to be drizzling (or snowing)….minor details, haha! It’s also a great time for the bride and groom to take a little relaxer, grab some fresh air, and soak in the day. I mean, Holy Cow…they just got married! KINDA a big deal!
Below are some of my favorite shots from Andy & Ann’s wedding at The Downtown Club in Philadelphia.
I must say that these gals had me dying pretty much the entire day. I don’t think I ever laughed so hard at a wedding!
We love a good ceremony. A huge part of the storytelling process is laughter, love, and emotion. I love when a ceremony has all of those things!
I’m sure a lot of people wonder when they see shots of the bride and her bridesmaids laughing, is it real, is it fake? Who ever knows! Apparently, Ann’s bachelorette party was the female version of the hangover. Okay maybe not that crazy, because those dudes are pretty crazy, but still they’re a good time. Anyway, for this shot in particular, I asked them to think of the craziest moment at the bachelorette party (that they could remember..). Word on the street is there are photos and a video floating around…idk..;0)
At this point, the dark skies invaded our pretty blue sky. What would a portrait shoot be without the dramatic effect of wind? hmm…
Ann, in my opinion, looks a lot like a friend of mine who lives in Michigan. I swear, I found my friend’s doppelganger. They look and sound a like, which is really fun in a creepy way! The strangest thing is that they are both from Michigan…not far from each other. Weiiiiird!
Want to melt a girls heart? Just go kiss her softly in front of her friends ;0) Andy and his sneaky moves!
The two top wedding party pictures are cute. I think it’s funny that people are so quick to stick their finger in the grooms ear. It happens quite frequently! I also love that Ann is sneezing in that picture, it just adds to it’s fun-ness
The 2 pictures below that are of a creepy man with a creepy mask. Yeah, Philadelphia is an interesting place.
Andy & Ann, thank you so much for doing the night portraits! We loved everything about your wedding day. Your friends, your family, your venue, and even the weather 🙂

Melissa and Michael – we can’t get enough of these pictures. You captured the genuine relationships between our friends and family, which is just what we had hoped for. We can’t thank you enough for going far beyond our expectations with your work.
(I also want to give a shout out to my other amazing vendors – Brittany Gillespie with Petals Lane, Michelle Nicosia Coyle with Shelly’s Touch Stationary Boutique, and Joe (hair) + Ali (makeup) with Lakshmi Hair Studio. I would recommend them all – as well as the DTC, Omni, Scratch, and M2 <3 – a hundred times over.)
