Baby Gabriella

4 years ago, we shot Leah & Joey’s engagement session at Longwood Gardens.  2 years ago, we shot their wedding at Hotel du Pont.  And last Thursday, we photographed their first baby, Gabriella.   We’ve been looking forward to meeting Gaby for a few weeks now.  Because she had a few roadblocks that she endured in her first couple weeks of being born, our shoot got pushed back a couple of weeks.  Gaby is a perfectly healthy little girl, but my heart went out to her as well as her parents during that time.  A new parent will find any special testing done on their child to be a bit scary.

With her being already 3 weeks old…we knew she was going to make us work hard, and she did =0)  She was a wide eyed baby that didn’t want to miss a thing.  Not until the very end did she fall asleep and even then, she would awaken at the slightest movement.   Her wonderful momma had bought all of these cute props in hopes of utilizing them.  We were able to use some, but putting a naked baby in a small basket while they are wide awake and moving their limbs, not always the best shots, haha.  So we approached this shoot a little differently and embraced her awareness as well as the entire beautiful family (including the dogs…who also happen to be beautiful).

Enjoy this little snippet of Gaby’s shoot.

Much love to the Coppolino’s.  You two deserve all the happiness this world has to offer.  I cannot wait to hear about all the happiness this little girl brings you =0)

Finally…fast asleep at the end, lol.

Adorable Ellie Lynn

A new baby was brought into our lives on the first day of spring this year. No, not ours, in case that thought happened to cross your mind. We welcomed our newest adorable niece Ellie Lynn Knotts to our ever growing family. She is a perfect and precious little baby girl (even her taradactle screech =)

Perhaps you remember my post of Becky’s baby shower (one of Michael’s 8 sisters..lol).

Because of our busy schedule, and the life adjustment for Becky and Jim as new parents, we were only able to take some shots of Ellie last week. At the time of the shoot, Ellie was already 3 weeks old and not necessarily a newborn anymore. I didn’t think think those adorable sleepy shots would happen. If you cannot  photograph a newborn in that first week sweet spot, it becomes increasingly difficult.

With a little gripe water (nothing harmful people) and a nice semi-long car ride to our studio…she surprisingly fell asleep for a solid 30 minutes. I cannot begin to tell you how proud I was of her.

I thought I’d share a couple shots that I took of Ellie while our intern, Briana,  was photographing her.

Hopefully this will hold you over Becky & Jim, at least for a little while =0)  PS.  We love you all and so excited to see your perfect little family grow!  xoxo

Simply Gorgeous!

The more I do shoots like this, the more I enjoy this type of photography.  All women are beautiful in different ways and are great subjects.

Also what female doesn’t enjoy being pampered?  You get your hair and make-up done, you have a drink, chat with other girls, and I take pretty pictures. I have fun with it.

What woman doesn’t enjoy quality female time?  Let’s be honest, we enjoy talking about things that most men could care less about.  For instance, shopping, shoes, who’s dating who in Hollywood, bridesmaid dresses, pinterest, twilight, true blood, the hunger games,  etc.

Whenever I can have a conversation about any of those things with another female, it’s like a breath of fresh air.  The most popular topics that come up in my discussions with Michael involve specs of the new full frame cameras, shooting at high iso, Nikon lenses, what we need to buy, and off camera lighting.  All of which I enjoy talking about, but I could never get Michael to willingly be open to a discussion about a sweet pair of heels. Lol.

Ireen has given me permission to show you some of my favorite images, which I’m excited to share.  Except if your name happens to be Brennan.  And if it happens to be your name and you are the Brennan that is her boyfriend.  Except you.  You’ll need to wait, haha.

Some of the pictures gave me goosies (aka goosebumps) when I saw them.  She is a naturally beautiful person.  My goal with Ireen was to shoot in a way that would enhance her natural beauty.

Much thanks to my make-up artist, Yvette.  She’s funny, fun, sweet and insanely awesome at what she does.  She’s my girl.

Also, thank you Juliet and Sarah for assisting me with this shoot.

We played a game during hair and make-up.  I seriously need to buy this for future shoots!

Bodi came along for support.  He just about gave Mr. Ugglesworth a stroke.  Our dog is the biggest alpha male (and he’s a pug).

Is it just me or do you agree that she resembles Scarlett Johanson in the below right image?

Feel free to be social and leave some feedback :)

Happy Friday everyone!
