Adorable Ellie Lynn

A new baby was brought into our lives on the first day of spring this year. No, not ours, in case that thought happened to cross your mind. We welcomed our newest adorable niece Ellie Lynn Knotts to our ever growing family. She is a perfect and precious little baby girl (even her taradactle screech =)

Perhaps you remember my post of Becky’s baby shower (one of Michael’s 8 sisters..lol).

Because of our busy schedule, and the life adjustment for Becky and Jim as new parents, we were only able to take some shots of Ellie last week. At the time of the shoot, Ellie was already 3 weeks old and not necessarily a newborn anymore. I didn’t think think those adorable sleepy shots would happen. If you cannot  photograph a newborn in that first week sweet spot, it becomes increasingly difficult.

With a little gripe water (nothing harmful people) and a nice semi-long car ride to our studio…she surprisingly fell asleep for a solid 30 minutes. I cannot begin to tell you how proud I was of her.

I thought I’d share a couple shots that I took of Ellie while our intern, Briana,  was photographing her.

Hopefully this will hold you over Becky & Jim, at least for a little while =0)  PS.  We love you all and so excited to see your perfect little family grow!  xoxo

Meet baby Lucas | Philadelphia Newborn Photography

Good Morning!!   It’s a gorgeous day and it seems as though the wind has calmed for the most part.  Although, I’ll admit, I haven’t stepped a foot outside yet =0\  Today, is a full day of computer time for me.  I’ll be posting 2 blog posts today.  1 newborn and 1 wedding.

First, let’s introduce Lucas!  An adorable little guy who came into the world 9 days ago (5 days old when we photographed him).  He was perfect!  He was a well behaved boy.  Sleeping when we wanted him to!  Sleepy babies make this type of shoot much much easier.  It allowed us to get some really cute shots of him in those sleepy moments.  I think it would be hard for anyone to not want a baby after spending the afternoon with him.

An incredible old library card catalog that I picked up from my friend Ireen.  She sold her entire apartment to move to New York, luckily I was able to get my hands on some things before they sold =0)

We had to get a picture with Auntie Michelle.  Michelle is a past bride of ours and we love her!

Congrats Ryan & Heather.  Lucas is PERFECT!  God has blessed you with an adorable little family!  Enjoy and embrace these early stages, no matter how much sleep you get (or DON’T get =).  It goes by quickly, but you have many fun stages to look forward to!

Baby Hunter | Philadelphia Newborn Photography

Is it just me or is everyone seriously having babies? At this moment we have 8 past bride and grooms who are expecting and 2 that recently had a baby (all in the matter of a month).  Out of the 8 bride and grooms that are currently preggo, 3 of those couples are expecting twins.  Ironic?  Hmm.  Michael and I now joke around that if you choose us to photograph your wedding, you have a higher risk of catching the multiple bug ;0)  Just kidding future bride and grooms, haha.

I’ve been dying to get this post up.  It would have been up a couple days ago, but this weekend is our anniversary and so Michael and I have both been in and out of the office, creatively trying to up-do each others plans, lol. Yeah, sounds fun huh?

Anyhoo, perhaps you remember Josh and Heather.  We shot their wedding just shy of 2 years ago.  What can I say about them?  They are seriously two of the most relaxed people I’ve ever met.  Heather and Josh’s personalities remind me a lot like ours.  Perhaps this is why we get along with them and their family so well.

After almost 2 years, along comes Hunter.  An adorable little guy who hands down wins the title for most alert baby we’ve ever photographed.  Hunter was not the 6 day old sleepy head I expected.  However, he did a great job. He didn’t sleep much but, he didn’t cry and remained as cute as can be the entire time.  He was just a curious!

Being a part of a wedding day is super special and we love every minute of it.  Being able to follow our clients as they adventure into the next chapter of their lives and start their family is not only special, it’s special and emotional (happy happy emotions).  Anyone who knows me, knows, I love babies…I mean really, I have 2 at a time, I don’t mess around!   ;0) hehe.

On that note, let’s take a peek of Hunter’s photo shoot!
