Hyden’s first birthday party (it’s a special one)!

Hyden_first_birthday_philadelphia 32

First birthdays include family and friends, some balloons, a cake, presents, maybe some other little kids, food, and some decorations right?  Well, take all of that and step it up about 10 notches, imagine that! Everything was amazing down to the last detail! As most of you know, we specialize in wedding photography and have only ever shot 1 other birthday party (besides Ava and Bella's parties).  We are drawn to weddings mostly because it allows us to capture every emotion the way we see … [Read more...]

Jacob as a 1 year old

Philadelphia_children's_photography_M2 04

I'm going to just come out and say it.....I LOVE THIS LITTLE BOY!   He had me at his first cry 1 year ago when we shot his newborn shoot.   Maybe some of you recognize him as the handsome little ring bearer at Joann & Emir's Please Touch Museum wedding.  Seeing Jacob again has been another reminder of how fast time flies right on by.  It seemed like he was born yesterday.  Now, he's a 1year old and has developed his own amazingly sweet personality.  It's truly amazing having the … [Read more...]

Meet Mr. Ian!

Philadelphia_Children_Photography_Ian 13

Not only is Ian incredibly cute, he's also very charming.  This stage of the first year is a fun one (10-12 months).  He's already walking (a lot), which blew my mind.   He tumbled, bumbled his way down a small hill or two, but considering his age, he walked very well. As most of you know, we've been having a lot of rain.  Well it didn't rain on the day of the shoot, but the ground was sure wet and muddy.  Mommy and Daddy allowed him to have a little fun and get a little dirty … [Read more...]

Disney World Vacation…documented as usual.

Disney-World-Vacation-Philadelphia-Photographer 78

As most of you know, we went to Disney World this month.  Of course we documented it and thought we'd share some of the pictures with you all.  It may seem like a lot of pictures, but considering we took thousands, this is only a small fraction =0) Of course with us, there are always some hiccups along the way that make for interesting/funny stories.  Let's start at the beginning...Because of our busy schedules this summer, I only found time to pack on Tuesday (we were leaving on … [Read more...]

A very large family reunion| The Lamb Tavern, Springfield, Pa.

Family Portraits

It's always great when we get the opportunity to work with past wedding clients after their wedding.  We shot Josh and Heather's wedding last June and since then we've become facebook friends with Josh's mother, Nancy.  She's one pretty rad lady.  She contacted us a couple months ago about photographing their very large family reunion.  When I imagine a family reunion, I think 30ish people not 90.  This was the mother-load of all family reunions.   90+ people attended this family reunion, … [Read more...]

Please Touch! Okay, we will!

Please Touch Museum- 04 copy

With a heavy wedding season approaching, Michael and I are taking every opportunity to do something fun with the girls before we turn into work-a-holic wedding photographers.  After shooting a wedding at the Please Touch Museum, we HAD to get a year pass for the family, just had to!  This has been our second visit with the girls and each time it's just as fun.  The first time, we didn't take a camera (I know...doesn't happen much).  We also knew that because they've never been there before, … [Read more...]

Happy Anniversary & Birthday My Love.

Melissa's Bday 1

As many of you know, yesterday was Melissa's birthday and our wedding anniversary. What's that you say? Seems like a great idea on my part? You'd think. And for the most part it is except that for our one year anniversary I forgot. Remembered her birthday though. I guess this just proves that I'm a man. Luckily she gave me a pass on that one. So on my birthday, Melissa documented most of it and posted images on our blog for all to see. Of course I wasn't going to let the opportunity … [Read more...]

Handsome little Reese | Ridley Creek State Park

Blog | Children

Reese.  Let's start out by saying how much I love his name.  I still think of chocolate whenever I hear or say it and well, what woman doesn't love chocolate?   He already has that working for him.  He also has style, I suppose mom, Julie can take most of the credit for this now.   His outfit consisted of khakis, a long sleeved shirt with a tie printed on it, and a jean jacket.  Michael loved his tie shirt so much that, I'm currently looking for one just like it for him (well a couple … [Read more...]

The McManus’s first ever family photoshoot | Valley Forge National Park

McManus Family Potraits_ 01

There's a first time for everything.  This was a first for us, our first ever family portrait (that we didn't take, lol).  It may seem hard to believe that we've never had our picture taken by anyone else, being that Michael and I are both photographers and we both know really talented people in the same profession. Who was the lucky dog behind the camera?  Our friend Thomas Pappanastasiou (pronounced: pappa-nice-to-see-you....I've pronounced his last name many ways, none of which are ever … [Read more...]

February 12th… just another ordinary day!?

February 12th_ 01

For most people, February 12th is just that, another ordinary day.   Our family also looks at this day as an ordinary day, but also a celebration.  Why?  Because 28 years ago, on this day, the man of our house was born (not Mr. Ugglesworth).   When I mentioned to Michael about documenting the day and then later blogging about it, he and I did not share the same excitement.  Michael doesn't like bringing attention to himself, so with this, I'm really throwing him out there, haha.  Sorry … [Read more...]
