4 years ago, we shot Leah & Joey’s engagement session at Longwood Gardens. 2 years ago, we shot their wedding at Hotel du Pont. And last Thursday, we photographed their first baby, Gabriella. We’ve been looking forward to meeting Gaby for a few weeks now. Because she had a few roadblocks that she endured in her first couple weeks of being born, our shoot got pushed back a couple of weeks. Gaby is a perfectly healthy little girl, but my heart went out to her as well as her parents during that time. A new parent will find any special testing done on their child to be a bit scary.
With her being already 3 weeks old…we knew she was going to make us work hard, and she did =0) She was a wide eyed baby that didn’t want to miss a thing. Not until the very end did she fall asleep and even then, she would awaken at the slightest movement. Her wonderful momma had bought all of these cute props in hopes of utilizing them. We were able to use some, but putting a naked baby in a small basket while they are wide awake and moving their limbs, not always the best shots, haha. So we approached this shoot a little differently and embraced her awareness as well as the entire beautiful family (including the dogs…who also happen to be beautiful).
Enjoy this little snippet of Gaby’s shoot.
Much love to the Coppolino’s. You two deserve all the happiness this world has to offer. I cannot wait to hear about all the happiness this little girl brings you =0)
<3,
Melissa

Finally…fast asleep at the end, lol.
